Add a functional skills awarding body

Before assigning Functional Skills aims to a learner program, you will need to add a Functional Skills awarding body to your system. This article walks you through the process of adding a Functional Skills awarding body and then setting up the relevant aim codes for English, Maths, and ICT at Levels 1 and 2. Once completed, you’ll be able to assign these aims to learner programs as required.
Adding the Functional Skills Awarding Body...
Step 1: Click Subcontractors from the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Click the + Add Subcontractor button.
Step 3: Complete the details on the + Add Subcontractor page (see table below for further guidance).

| Organisation Type | Mandatory, checkbox | Tick 'Functional Skills Provider'. You will then see further checkboxes displayed - tick the relevant subjects (maths, English, ICT) and levels. |
| Address 1 | Mandatory, free text | Input the address 1 for the functional skills provider. |
| Address 2 | Mandatory, free text | Input the address 2 for the functional skills provider. |

Step 4: Click Save. You will then see the Functional Skills provider listed in the table on the Subcontractors page.
Adding the Aims...
Step 1: Click Subcontractors from the left-hand menu and locate the Subcontractor that you want to add aims to, then click Edit in the Actions column.
Step 2: Click on the Aim Codes tab at the top of the page.
Step 3: Click the + Add Aim Code button.
Step 4: Complete the details on the + Add Aim Code modal (see table below for further guidance).

| End Date | Non-mandatory, free text | Enter the end date for the functional skill. Note that this is only applicable if the aim has been ended and no linger being delivered. |
Step 5: Click Save.
